We started Fun Sweets in 1994 with a sack of sugar, an instruction manual and the dream of becoming America’s premier maker of take home cotton candy. We learned quickly that the instruction manual didn’t contain everything we’d need to know in order to achieve our goal.

But why cotton candy? That’s easy. You see, no matter their age or gender, everyone loves cotton candy. It’s the only candy that is guaranteed to produce a smile. Now all we needed to do was package that magic so you could take it home.

Though we had developed a series of proprietary methods to improve the situation, it was clear that clear bags weren’t the best method for packaging shelf stable cotton candy.Foil bags worked better, but when consumers kept telling us they didn’t think the product was real cotton candy because they couldn’t see it, we knew we had to find a way to both show and protect the product.

It turned out the solution was right under our nose. The Fun Sweets Research & Development team had for years used clear tubs as a way of storing test batches. When we went back to visit an old project we realized how fresh the product stayed in the tubs if they were sealed just right.

We worked to establish methods which improved the stability of cotton candy in tubs and later coupled those discoveries with the technology dairies use to package yogurt cups. At that point we were able to offer Fun Sweets cotton candy with an unprecedented 12 month shelf life.

With Fun Sweets cotton candy now available in America’s favorite retailers and America’s favorite theme parks our dream has been realized.
