At the Center, we recognize the importance of the preschool years, as a time, when children take great steps on their own developmental journey. They have emerged from the toddler years with a sure sense of an autonomous self, an emerging interest in peers, and motor skills that will take them to new places and new heights. They are ready to develop the language, and social-emotional skills that will lead to success in school and life.

At the Center, we pledge to work with you and your child toward quality educational experiences. We also recognize that you, as a parent, are your child's first and most important teacher and that your home is the most significant learning environment, where lifelong dispositions about learning begin to develop. I invite you to join with your child's teachers in a partnership that will support your child to grow and learn every day at the center and at home. In the spirit of partnership, I invite you to join us, in a commitment to share in and contribute to your child's learning experience.

As your partner, we agree to work together with you to help your child become a successful learner. We welcome your presence in the center at all times and invite you to participate in home base activities on a regular basis. We encourage your child's unique capabilities and interests. We integrate language, arts, math and science throughout our curriculum, to nurture your child's love of language, arts, science, mathematics and learning. We are creating classroom environments where your child can learn the importance of books and print. My goal is to ensure a quality daycare/preschool that meets the needs of our children.

We have a variety of talented staff. We have 3 staff members with Associates Degrees in Child Development. Several staff members are working towards their CDA. All of our teachers receive continuing education courses. Each one of our staff contributes something very special to our Center; Music, Arts & Crafts, Story-Telling, Creativeness and wonderful imagination, to mention a few.

The Ashland Child Development Center maintains a better teacher/child ratios than the state requires. For the infants, never more than 1 to 4 (usually, 1 to 2 or 3), for toddlers 1 to 5 or 6, and for the older children 1 to 10.

All of our staff receive CPR and First Aid Training on a continuing basis. They welcome the opportunity to work with parents who may have special concerns, and value each child as a special individual.
