About us,
Sweet Something’s Pastries, owned and operated by Michael and Roseanne Mattefs from the Kenosha/Racine area. Sweet Something’ Pastries started their business by renting and managing the kitchen space inside the Homeless Assisted Living Organization (HALO), located in Racine Wi. As the business grew, they moved out of HALO and ran the Café, located inside the Gateway Technical College (South Building), in Elkhorn Wi. Not only did they maintain the bakery business, they also supplied the food service for the campus. This was considered a short order deli style to provide breakfast, lunch and early dinner for both the staff and students at the campus. Due to the recent pandemic, the Café has been closed. They are now teamed up with the Kenosha Harbor Market in which they are once again are managing an Incubator Kitchen that is run through the Kenosha Harbor Market. The kitchen is called K.I.C.K. (Kenosha Incubator Community Kitchen), currently located in the Mason Unity Lodge in Kenosha.
Sweet Something’s Pastries still does local farmers markets and craft fairs throughout the year. They do seize the opportunity to use local farmers produce in the baked goods which in return, this provides support for the local community.
