Oshkosh Area Humane Society

Mission Statement
Our mission is to care for the lost, homeless and abused animals of the Oshkosh Area and to place them in forever homes, in an effort to inspire a kinder more humane community.

Statement of Purpose
The Oshkosh Area Humane Society’s purpose is to provide shelter and care to lost, homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused animals.  In accordance with our Life Saving Mission, we pledge every adoptable animal will receive the opportunity to find a loving home regardless of space or time.

Operations

Every day, cats and kittens arrive at OAHS that we just don’t have enough room for.  OAHS is a life saving shelter, which means we will not euthanize due to the lack of space in the building.  This is where you can help.

We are always looking for help both with adoption and financial support. In 2011 we took in 2,316 animals, a increase from 2010 Saw a 14.7% increase in adoptions and 4.3% decrease in euthanasia Placed 1,030 cats, 270 dogs, 17 rabbits, and 57 small mammals into new homes
Reunited 120 cats and 214 dogs with their owners

Support & Needs

SAVE A LIFE CAMPAIGN - Every year OAHS takes in thousands of homeless pets. Every adoptable animal is given a timeless opportunity to find a new home. Your gift of $32 for a cat or $96 for a dog gives more animals the gift of a new begininging in a new home.

BECOME A MEMBER – Your membership supports OAHS life-saving programs and services.

ADOPTION ADVOCATES  –
You can provide for the care and treatment of a particular pet waiting to be adopted. Adoption Advocates can provide funds for obedience classes, items the pet may benefit from having when they go home to their new home (example: scratching post) or for their daily care and well being. An Animal Advocate Paw Print is displayed along with the chosen pets ID card.

HUMANE HEROES – Dedicated to the daily costs of basic necessities for animals in our care.  When you become a Humane Hero your name will be listed on a dog kennel, cat condo or cat gallery.

TRIBUTES Looking for the perfect gift for an animal lover? Consider donating in their name, whether it's for a special occasion, event or just because.

MEMORIALS Donate in memory of a deceased individual or pet. The family will receive a card of acknowledgment and the memorial is printed in our newsletter.

ASTRO FUND - Provides educational materials and programs for area school age children and children's service organizations.
