Edgar's bakery was founded in 1998 in the Inverness area of Birmingham, Alabama by Terry and Dottie Smith. If you were to ask how Edgar's began, you might expect to hear of great ambitions, and strategies. Instead, Terry Smith will tell you that he started his bakery simply because he was asked to leave the security of an established career with a reputable company to step out in blind obedience to God.

Here at Edgar’s, we too desire to create beautiful and delicious foods with His natural ingredients. We desire to help each of our customers taste and see the goodness of God in every product we prepare. “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him.” Psalm 34:8

With four locations and frequent customer requests for more, we view our growth as validation of our foundational commitment to high quality and genuine service. Dottie stated that, "We will never expand for expansion sake, but we will always keep an open ear to meeting our customer's needs."
