Viper Car Alarms and remote starter functions can now be controlled right from your iPhone or iPod touch. You no longer will need to carry around the traditional Viper key chain remote.

Direct Electronics, the maker of Viper Car security and remote start systems, has developed an iPhone application that can be downloaded for free and gives you all of the functionality of a traditional key chain remote right on your phone. This virtual keychain control module can lock, unlock, open the trunk, activate the alarm and turn on your vehicle. The application works with the Viper SmartStart technology installed in any car or truck.

This cutting edge technology is available with new or older Viper car security and remote start systems that are already installed in your car. Vehicles must have the Viper SmartStart System installed or you can upgrade your current Viper alarm system with a subscription to Viper’s SmartStart service.
