Our Mission Title
The Bone Adventure, located in Costa Mesa, California, is a cage-free, state of the art Dog Daycare Center designed for dogs to play all day in an indoor and outdoor environment, interacting and learning social skills with other dogs.  The Bone Adventure has over 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, with numerous amenities, including a doggie pool, separate areas for large and small dogs, and state of the art rubberized flooring - which means the optimum in comfort and cleanliness.  The Bone Adventure offers daycare, night care, bathing, and pick-up/drop-off services, providing a complete program for individual needs.

Our goal is to provide a service to individuals and families who have busy and demanding schedules but still want the companionship of a well-adjusted dog.  We believe that socialization and exercise are the primary factors contributing to a dog's well being, and we strive to provide this in a safe, clean, and fun environment.

The Bone Adventure was founded by Diane Cuniff, a long time business professional raised in Corona del Mar, who saw the huge need for a center of this kind in the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa Communities.  A long time dog owner, Ms. Cuniff was one of the original customers of dog day care in Los Angeles during the nineties. She helped write a business plan and secure financing for a dog daycare company in 1995, and decided to open The Bone Adventure in 2002.  Ms. Cuniff loves dogs, and also understands the needs of busy professionals who want to have a rewarding career, a satisfying home life, and time to enjoy it all.  We believe that The Bone Adventure will go a long way in helping to improve the quality of both the dog's and the owner's lives.

Our philosophy is to be focused in what we do. We are building our clientele and our staff carefully. We want to have clients who consider The Bone Adventure a regular and essential part of their dog's life and we are hiring people who have a passion for animals, patience, dependability, and diligence. As our business grows, we will implement additional services.

When the pooches are dropped off, they are raring to go!  Whether six months or ten years old, there is a great deal of excitement when they see the driveway at The Bone Adventure.  After the first visit, owners tell us that their dog literally pulls them up the driveway! So obviously the mornings are full of pouncing and playing, sniffing and running.  The new kid on the block usually gets a bit more attention than the regulars.

There are balls to chase, ropes to tug, and people who monitor their activity at all times.  There's even a "time out" section for the dog that woke up on the wrong side of the dog bed.  By mid-day, the dogs mellow out. Some continue to play while others sit back and watch.  There are several dog houses where the more sedate may visit for a quick time out.  We turn on the TV and many choose to snooze and watch the movie at the same time.

In the afternoon, there is renewed energy and, on sunny days, the pool gets filled up for those water lovers.  The staff plays ball and provides TLC for those who just want to cuddle. Some of the dogs prefer to sit with the office staff, so they will relax on the leather couches.  By the end of the day, the dogs go home with their owners- tired and happy they got the exercise and the socialization they needed.

If a dog is lucky enough to get to spend the night, The Bone Adventure Hotel rooms are a private retreat for eating and getting a good night’s sleep.  The rooms are approximately 30 square feet with glass doors, and they are appointed with comfortable Kuranda Beds and soft cushions.  The dogs retire between 7:00 and 8:00 PM, and are up again at around 6:00 AM. There is 24 hour supervision, 7 days per week.  The dogs are provided food as per instructions provided by the owner.
