Spartanburg's first indoor climbing gym was opened by two individuals who thoroughly enjoy climbing, hiking and most outdoor activities but realized that Spartanburg didn't offer any facility in which to enjoy these hobbies or train for outside climbing. Thus.....Climb Upstate was built!
Climb Upstate offers a variety of climbing challenges for all ages at all skill levels, including the most advanced. From slab walls to roof climbing, each climb is exciting thanks to the unique features incorporated into our climbing gym. One such feature is a 45degree lean back, 30ft long, for bouldering only, with a maximum drop of 4ft. Because of the unique construction, this is one of the most challenging and least risky climbs found anywhere on the East Coast, and maybe anywhere. We consider this a training ground for our roof section which offers upside down climbing for 40ft!
While taking a break, you can rest in our loft lounge and watch a climbing dvd which will motivate and instruct you. Or, a five miniute walk willl take you to Main Street, Spartanburg, where you can hear live music, have dinner, drinks or just snacks.
So, consider meeting your friends, having a party or birthday party or just come to work out at Climb Upstate. Participation requested, results evident and fun guaranteed!
