Our Staff:

Paul Hinkle

Dr. Hinkle is originally from Gastonia and moved to Rutherford County in 1993. He earned his B.S. degree in microbiology from N.C. State University in 1989 and later graduated from N.C. State school of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After graduating from vet school, Dr. Hinkle practiced large animal medicine for 15 years. He later purchased the small animal practice in 2006, and now focuses solely on it. In what spare time he has, he enjoys, hunting/fishing, riding his motorcycle, woodworking, and hiking. Dr. Hinkle has three "babies", his faithful blue heeler Mikey, and two cats, Chaos, and his stalker Prissa.      

Roger Tessneer , D.V.M.

Dr. Tessneer graduated from N.C. State University in 1975 with a B.S. degree in animal science. From there he obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1980. He owned and operated three practices in Gastonia for many years before coming to Hinkle's Pet Hospital in 2008. He is our dental guru. Dr. Tessneer is an incredible chef and keeps us all well fed. He enjoys cooking, gardening, hunting/fishing and singing in his church choir.

Jeff Smith , DVM

Office Manager:

Suzanne has worked in the Veterinary field as a technician since 1996. She and her husband purchased Hinkle's Pet Hospital in September 2006. Suzanne is the backbone of the hospital and keeps everything running smoothly and effeciently. Her favorite things about working here are seeing the puppies and kittens grow up, and talking with clients. Suzanne feels like they are all family.  In her off time, she enjoys reading, riding her motorcycle, gardening, and watching her son play baseball. She has 3 "babies", Mikey the blue heeler, and 2 kitties; Chaos and Prissa.
