NEPSCO is an organization that comprises technical professionals highly skilled in the study, design, analysis and implementation of processes for the production, processing and destruction of energetic materials.

Our Engineers and Scientists are well versed in the technical issues that are unique to processes involving energetic materials; as well as proven commercial engineering and management tools that maximize the safety, operability and productivity of all processes.  

The NEPSCO Team:

 

NEPSCO is a Small Woman-Owned Business based around a core team of energetic materials specialists. In addition to these core individuals, we maintain a network of subject matter specialists that we can access as needed. With this arrangement we are able to offer a broad range of technical services to our clients in both the public and private sectors. 


Together or individually we have designed, built and commissioned plants for the synthesis and processing of various energetic materials from primary high explosives to energetic binder compounds for aerospace applications.

 In addition to our expertise in the theoretical and applied science of energetic materials, NEPSCO
professionals are also experienced in complying with regulations that govern operations involving energetics. This experience includes development and implementation of programs to comply with regulations governing the production and storage of energetics such as:

  • DOD and Army Regulations including 6055.9, DA PAM 385-64, AMCR 385-100, etc...
  • Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Materials (29CFR 1910.119)
  • Standards for Manufacturers of Explosives and Blasting Agents (29CFR1910.109).
  • US Army Technical Manual TM5-1300, Structures to Resist the Effects of Accidental Explosions
  • Department of Defense Contractor’s Safety Manual


We are also fully versed and experienced in compliance with regulations governing the disposal of waste energetic materials including:

  • Standards for Hazardous Waste Operations
    (29 CFR 1910.120)

  • Standards for Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage and Disposal Facilities
  • (40CFR261)

This experience in complying with applicable regulations allows NEPSCO to assist with compliance and permitting tasks that may arise under various projects.
