Garden of Read’n (formerly The Christian Book Center) was purchased from Elwyn and Minnie Alexander in 2005. The Alexanders had owned and operated the Christian Book Center in a couple of locations for over 20 years. When it became Garden of Read’n, the store underwent a massive re-model including the addition of a full-service espresso bar, a large children’s play room, comfy leather chairs for reading, and a quiet study area. Our hope was to create an inviting atmosphere that would appeal to anyone wanting a little break from the outside world! We are a Christian bookstore with a vision for ministry and are always looking for new ways to connect with the community. We have brought in many Christian artists including Jeremy Camp, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me, Third Day, Casting Crowns and Newsboys. We have also sponsored such events as The Apostles of Comedy, the theatrical production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and VeggieTales, and most recently, Christian Illusionist Brock Gill. Local author book signings are also a frequent event at Garden of Read’n. Keep an eye on the Upcoming Events tab for all local Christian events.

Along with the re-model came an infusion of inventory! We now have a large selection of Bibles, books, music, cards, gifts, jewelry and apparel. We love special orders so if you don't see what you are looking for please ask us to order it. We also make our very own home-made fudge right here in the store! Be sure to ask for a sample of one of the 12 flavors of delicious fudge made with real cream and butter.

We love working with the churches and would like to provide our personal service for all supply needs. A 20% ministry discount is available for church purchases as well as an account option with 30 day billing and free delivery.

Local businessman Michael Burks says God gave him a fortune, so it's only natural that he spend it spreading the Gospel
