Wedding photography began 35 years ago for me in Johnstown, PA. The business flourished, and I brought it to Charleston 20 years ago. After 1,500 weddings, teaching photography, winning awards and recognition from my peers, photographing a wedding still excites me. I can’t wait to see the images I captured from the day and marvel at the finished product as it unfolds in front of me complete with special effects and new age album designs.

Even though I photograph other events, weddings are my passion. Is it the couple committing themselves to each other? Is it the pageantry? Maybe it’s the reception’s hoopla. Or the excitement of the photography. Or maybe it’s all of it wrapped around the challenges of the day. Either way, weddings inspire me to keep it new, keep it fresh, innovative and cutting edge.

I limit myself to only 40 weddings a year so I can give each the attention it deserves. Maybe that’s why THE KNOT honored me exclaiming, “Brides love this photographer’s work!” But I don’t do it for the awards . . . I do it because it’s who I am.
