Meet Our Staff:

Carolyn Standen, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) 
Dr. Carolyn Standen is a 1982 graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary School of Medicine.  She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and is a bit of a "Crazy Cat Lady" herself.  She shares her love of critters with her roommate Kelli and her daughter Heather.

Anita Lara, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
While growing up in San Joaquin Valley, Dr. Anita Lara dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. A 1996 graduate from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, she enjoys all aspects of feline medicine. She and her husband Lincoln share their home with their two feline kids-"Sesame" and "Emmy".

Cathy, Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) 
Cathy lives in El Dorado County with her family, German Shorthair "Josie" and orange tabby "Milton Bradley III" who was adopted from the El Dorado County Animal Shelter.  She has been an RVT for more than 20 years, having worked with Dr. Standen for three years in the '90's and is excited to be working with her again.

Sarah, Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Sarah is an animal lover of all varieties!  She and her family have horses, cats, dogs, a turtle named "Squirt". She is our kitten foster mom and has raised over 20 of our needy feline babies.

Joyce, Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

Cats have always been a part of Joyce's life and there are currently two, "Dazzle" and "Peso" that she rescued in Mexico.  ShihTzu "Champ" and Cockapoo "Ruffles" make up the rest of her animal family.  Joyce has been a RVT and a pet groomer for many years. She has spent the past 10 years doing volunteer work for a spay/neuter clinic in Baja, Mexico.

Jamie, Veterinary Assistant 

Jamie lives in El Dorado County with her family of three kitties; "Kaylee", "Sophie", "Zap", and her Laborador named "Bella". New to this area she is falling in love with all the lakes and rivers where she and "Bella" often spend time soaking up the sun.

Kelli, Volunteer
Kelli lives with her own little zoo at home.  She loves animals of any type, just ask her!  She is a jack of all trades and assists with many of the behind the scenes needs at the clinic.
