In 1994 one man and one truck came up with the idea to bring service to truck drivers where they needed it most – at the breakdown site! One box truck held our entire stock of inventory and our revenues have increased to over 100 times what 1994 gave us! A small idea, big dreams, and a booming business – it’s been 14 great years!
Sam and Debbie Passerallo began D & S with one mobile truck and a home office. Sam began his mechanical career in Pennsylvania helping his father work on farm equipment. After graduating from Elkland High, he worked as lead mechanic for an east coast leasing company which was eventually purchased by a national lease corporation. From there, he transferred from district to district, becoming the shop supervisor at each location and restructuring garages in Pennsylvania, Texas, Iowa, and finally, coming to Indiana. Debbie graduated from Elkhart Memorial and began her career in the transportation industry at a local wood distributor by processing trip reports and fuel tax reports before moving to Texas to prepare fuel tax and permit requirements. After moving back to Indiana, she learned the truck leasing industry at a local leasing company, which was acquired by a national leasing corporation. History was made!
In 1996 D &S rented a one stall garage on Elkhart's north side. In 1998 the shop on Middleton Run Road was purchased and, over the next few years, many improvements and updates were made to the building including an additional bay, upstairs corporate offices, and updated lighting and air fixtures in the service area. In 2006 D & S opened it's second shop on Ireland Road in South Bend, Indiana. We’ve come a long way!
