Thank you for your interest in Oklahoma Sport Fencing and our programs. Our group and individual lessons are given at our location at 24 NW 144th Circle, about 1/2 mile north of Memorial Road off of Santa Fe in Edmond.

All beginning students (regardless of age) take one month of Basics lessons first, learning the footwork, blade work, and terminology that will be the foundation of fencing. The next Basics class will begin on Wednesday, March 2, and meet for four Wednesdays - March 2, 9, 16, and 23. Class time is from 6-7 pm. To sign up for Basics, please call Carolyn at 405-359-8487 or e-mail her at the e-mail address listed under "Coaches" in the left hand menu.

After completing one month of Basics, adult students and teens enter the Novice level of the recreational fencing program. Teen Novice students ages 13-16 attend technique class on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm. Adult Novice students (ages 16+) meet for technique class on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm. Teen and adult students are also encouraged to attend at least one bouting session a week, on Mondays at 8 pm, Tuesdays at 8 pm, and/or Thursdays at 7 pm. The Novice course takes about 6 months to complete; after that, students enter the Intermediate course (for 6 months) and then the Expert.

Students aged 10-13 years old enter the Cavaliers class. This class meets twice weekly, on Mondays from 7-8 pm and on Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 pm. The Monday class is devoted to technique training; on Thursdays, students fence with one another, putting learned techniques into action. Students 7-10 years old join the Swordsmen class, meeting on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:00 pm. Monday classes are for technique and Wednesdays are bouting days.

The cost of membership is $60 per month for the first family member; $50 per month for the second member, $40 for the third. This is a monthly membership fee, so students may come as many times a week or month as they would like for the same price. There is no contract required.

We also offer a Competitive program, which incorporates technique classes, bouting, weekly private lessons, and individualized coaching at tournaments. This is for the student interested in competing in fencing at local, regional, or national tournaments. The competitive program is $90 per month and we do ask that students commit to staying in the competitive program for at least 6 months, for continuity and results.

New students begin by learning foil technique. We also offer epee and sabre lessons, classes which students may enter after a month of foil lessons.

At OSF, fencing equipment is provided. Clothing for classes should include long, loose pants, tee shirt, and athletic shoes with socks. Shorts and sandals are not recommended.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. If you'd like brochures about our programs, please send your address and we will mail them to you. Again thank you for your interest in OSF and in fencing in general!
