The General Store was built in 1888 and was actually the Arglye State Bank vault. The original Mosler Safe Co. door still exist in The General Store.
Lynn Carrico and Deanie Willis are sisters and the proud owners who have worked to create a inviting space where patrons can find specialty gifts for friends and loved ones. The rear of The General Store is dedicated to creating delicacies that patrons will enjoy here or can take away to enjoy at the office or in their home. The "Vault" now houses a choice selection of wines to enhance a specially prepared meal or enjoy while watching a beautiful sunset.
Gentleman now you have a place that is focused on pleasing your significant other by way of a professionally prepared gift basket. "We want you to know that you can come down and trust us to take care of you like you are part of our family".
Hosting wine tastings, group meetings and other special events are in the plans for The General Store in coming months. The owners travel every Monday to a wholesale market in Dallas to find new items, so they can compile a customer wish list.

"We Love waking up and getting to work by 8 a.m. in our new roles as business owners.“It is absolutely a wonderful thing what the owner of the building has done,” said Argyle native Yvonne Jenkins, who is a former mayor and an author of two books about the city. “They have taken care of one of the last remaining [historic] structures in Argyle, and have treated it with a lot of tender, loving care.”
