High Priestess Piercing & Tattoo is a full range professional body piercing studio. From basic earlobe piercings to complex piercing projects, we are both talented and experienced in all facets of body piercing. We’re locally owned and operated. Our Downtown Eugene piercing-only studio has been open since April 1st, 1996. Our Corvallis location opened in September of 2001, the Eugene Campus location in October of 2004, and finally Roseburg in November of 2007. Combined we have well over seventy years professional body piercing experience! High Priestess consists of four of only seven shops within Oregon that has members of The Association of Professional Piercers (APP).  In fact all twelve of our body piercers are APP members in addition to being licensed by the Oregon State Health Licensing Office. Every one of our employees is trained and certified in up to date first-aid, CPR, and blood-borne pathogens by the American Red Cross.

As members of The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) you can expect our studios to uphold a higher set of standards than what the state requires. We carry only the best body jewelry (read here for more jewelry info) and have all the newest industry specific information about the safest/cleanest piercing techniques and practices. We use autoclave sterilization with weekly* spore testing. Our aftercare practices have been tried and tested by literally tens of thousands of clients. Our employees not only attend extended learning classes at the annual APP conference, but we’ve taught several classes as well.

 * Most studios only do a monthly or even quarterly test to insure that their autoclave is properly sterilizing their tools and equipment. This potentially means it could be several months before they know their sterilizer might have exposed their clients to blood-borne pathogens. Our large tool and jewelry stocks, weekly testing, and operator-error proof Ritter M9 Autoclaves all but remove the likeliness of this happening within our studios.

Those of us at High Priestess feel that our role within the local community is very important. We are constantly striving to bring all the newest and safest techniques to our clients. We educate them in proper aftercare methods and appropriate body jewelry materials. We attend many local events to further educate the public into making safe, responsible, and educated decisions when choosing where to get their body-art. The emphasis is that you don’t necessarily have to go to our studios to get your work done, but make sure when you do choose where to go, you’re not putting your health and safety at risk. We also do orientation presentations to the new students at the local universities as additional public outreach.

In 2009 alone High Priestess donated over ten thousand dollars to local charities and events!

Those of us within the High Priestess family consider body modifications to represent a legitimate art-form, a state of mind, even a way of life. It is perhaps mankind’s oldest form of self expressionism. It has been a right of passage for countless cultures and indigenous tribes as long as time can tell. You could call us a dedicated tribe of modern day primitives, here to bring this ancient art-form into a respected position within our present world.
