Description
For high-functioning individuals with autism, Tailor Institute assesses, evaluates, and creates a therapy blueprint based around an individual's strengths and gifts, harnessing those talents, and helping the individual reach the highest level possible for true independent living. At Tailor Institute, its not "how smart are you", but rather, for every individual in the world, "how are you smart."  Everyone has a gift.  At Tailor Institute its about discovering it, harnessing it, and creating a more vibrant life for individuals with autism.

Our Inception

The Tailor Institute was founded in 2003 by the father of a high- functioning individual on the autism spectrum and a belief that if each individual with autism could have specially tailored services based around their special skills and gifts, they could reach their true potential more than ever imagined. With a vision to create a place where gifted individuals on the autism spectrum could find the tools they need to work and live independently, and for researchers to uncover groundbreaking ideas and discoveries in the world of giftedness and autism, The Tailor Institute was set in motion.

The Tailor Institute is a place where high-functioning individuals on the autism spectrum harness their special skills and gifts, find the tools they need to work and live independently, and where researchers work tirelessly to uncover groundbreaking ideas and discoveries in the world of giftedness and autism.  Nothing of its scope with its specific focus has been undertaken.

At the Tailor Institute individuals with autism are not only accepted for their unique talents, but embraced. We envision a world where one day, the moment a child receives an autism diagnosis, they are immersed in programs in all walks of their life that allow them to identify and hone their giftedness; A world where individuals with autism live their best life. We envision a world where a child with autism grows to be an independent and vibrant adult.
