Companions Animal Hospital is a full service hospital providing medicine, surgery, dentistry and preventative care. We treat dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, and small mammals. Our clients view their pets as family members and want the best care possible for them. At Companions Animal Hospital we strive to treat our patients as we would our own pets.

We try to get the new pets in your family off to a good start. Puppies and kittens get a bag of information about behavior and care on their first visit. We are available to help you with behavior problems or questions you may have about your pets' health. We emphasize annual exams for our patients since the early detection of diseases can improve the success of treatment. Geriatric care is another area that is increasingly important in our aging dogs and cats. We try to give our pet friends as long and healthy a life as possible.

At Companions Animal Hospital we keep a well-stocked pharmacy, can run in-house blood work, and our doctors attend continuing education courses frequently. We give our patients complete and thorough examinations and diagnostic tests and follow that with up-to-date treatment. We are firm believers in pain control and use it in many different situations because no pet should have to suffer unnecessarily. We will never recommend treatments or surgery unless we believe they are necessary for the health or comfort of your pet. Written estimates are provided prior to treating your pet.

Companions Animal Hospital is doing it’s part to help our environment. In 2003 it won the EnviroGuard Pollution Prevention Award for the city of Boise. We actively recycle all eligible paper, plastics, metal and cardboard products through BFI . When the remodel was done we used non-toxic flooring, recycled denim insulation, efficient lighting, high efficiency heat and point of use water heaters. Sun tubes and windows decrease the need for artificial lights in multiple areas of the facility. We reused cabinets and siding from the old building in the new addition. The landscaping is all drought tolerant to save on water use. Bike racks were installed to encourage employees to commute to work on 2 wheels. A programmable thermostat helps decrease energy use when the hospital is unoccupied. Companions is committed to helping maintain a healthy environment.
