During our open business hours, emergencies are welcome! If your pet is injured:

 

1. Try to stay calm

2. Bring your pet in, but do so safely - some pets may become aggressive if in pain.

3. If you have time, call ahead to let us know your coming. That ways we can have everything your pet might need set up on your arrival.

4. If your pet at poison - bring in the container if possible.

5. If your pet is bleeding, try to apply direct pressure to the wound with a clean cloth.

6. If your pet is having a seizure - DO NOT try to restrain the pet. Make sure it is in a safe area where it will not fall or hit anything. Be aware afterwards you pet may be disoriented and may act abnormally. It is common for pets to urinate/defecate during a seizure.

7. Snake bites - try to carry your pet. The more your pet moves around, the more the venom is circulating. Get your pet to the office ASAP since time is of the essence in these situations. If you can identify the snake, please let us know since this will impact treatment.

 

An emergency charge may be added to your invoice depending on severity of your pet’s injuries.
