Our coaches are there every minute to ensure your safety through teaching and enforcing proper technique. We strongly believe that CrossFit is for everyone.

Having said that, we firmly believe in scaling workout to your current abilities and fitness level. Scaling is simply breaking down any given workout to a level that is manageable and promotes your progress.

“Your Greatest Rival Lies Within”

How does CrossFit differ from any other training program? CrossFit training is designed to prepare individuals to literally maximize their potential: to be their fastest, strongest, most capable selves. The premise is that life is unpredictable. Sports are unpredictable. The unexpected happens and it happens quickly. The demands are immediate, spontaneous, and typically short. Therefore, whether training for fitness or to be an athlete, or in preparation for the demands of a high risk job, our workouts should resemble real life encounters.

Mirroring the demands of real life, CrossFit workouts are constantly varied. The level of difficulty changes with each training session. The duration of each exercise is typically short but also varies from workout to workout. Likewise, an average workout lasts only 20 minutes.(Seriously, when is the last time life required you to keep repeating the same physical task over and over again for more than 20 minutes?) CrossFit workouts promise to be ever changing and tough…but they are also quick and highly effective.

 

Within the training environment of CrossFit Outrival a camaraderie is forged among its members. As each participant learns to prevail over his own limits, he also learns to be mentor, encourager and brother to the others as they pursue their own goals. Everyone redefines who he/she is and what he/she is capable of. These accomplishments, shared by all of our members, are part of the fitness matrix that makes the relationships within our walls unique and bonding. Considerable growth with mutual support and admiration create a sense of community for our members and accountability for their performances… something that is sadly missing in most gyms and spas today.

There is working out. Then there is CrossFit…and then there is CrossFit Outrival.

What is the difference?

Working out is “hitting the gym,” “doing circuits” on the machines, establishing a routine and sticking with it. CrossFit is exactly NOT that. It is not routine. It is not doing the same thing the same way day after day. CrossFit the idea of of being….wait for it…. cross – fit ;) and that means cross-training: training for strength and speed and endurance and flexibility. You get the idea. CrossFit is training for every aspect of fitness. It is not being a “runner” or a “power lifter” or a “gymnast.” CrossFit is being all of the above…and more.

Every CrossFit workout is something new. Each day at the gym is a thrill because you don’t know what to expect, but you know you are going do something challenging and something you’d probably never do on your own.

Change is good otherwise boredom sets in, right? Change things up and you start seeing progress again. Good, very good! But…what about those days when you just don’t feel like working out? We’re all human. It’s in our nature.

Well, that’s where CrossFit Outrival makes all the difference! At CrossFit Outrival you will experience a real connection with your trainers and fellow members. We see it all the time! Coaches checking in on you through Facebook, posting pictures of proud moments (your very first rope climb…and you’re 42!), celebrating your successes, encouraging you every step of the way.

 

Your new friends reaching out to you during those difficult work weeks, setting up times to meet at the gym, holding each other accountable, and supporting you with complete understanding.
