Clubs at Sew n Save/ Elmwood Fabric

  • Embroidery By Machine
- EMBROIDERY CLUB
     PATTIE OTTO

Each session of Embroidery Club is full of embroidery designs, projects and ideas that can be used on garments, home dec, kid stuff and more. You will receive full color direction sheets for several projects as well as original designs on a diskette or your own flash drive in your particular machine's format. No need to download from the Internet or convert designs. During this fun lecture-demo class you will also learn helpful hints on embroidering and hooping techniques, stabilizers, marking and new products. Bring your own projects for “show and tell" and there is always a chance to win a door prize. Classes meet three times every other month with a morning, evening and weekend session for your convenience.

- HOW 2’S OF EMBROIDERY

ANN GEDEMER AND DEBBIE VITE

Let Ann and Deb show you or renew your knowledge of the how 2’s of embroidering. A set of 3 monthly classes will be as follows:

MONTH 1: Proper and Accurate placement of embroidery designs on garments using the templates that are available with your embroidery machine
MONTH 2: Learn how to make a piece of fabric into a quilted piece of fabric and then create a casserole hot dish cozy.
MONTH 3: Creating cutwork on a piece of fabric to create a bun warmer cover or napkin

- MACHINE EMBROIDERY BASICS

SHARON WICK

Learn about stabilizers, threads, needles, hooping, design placement, and any other questions you might have to de-mystify machine embroidery. A great class for beginners but experienced machine embroiderers may learn something new as well. The class format will be a hands-on lecture/demo.
  • Embroidery Software

- 4D ORGANIZER
     MARLENE PERKINS AND DEBBIE VITE

Marlene and Debbie will show you how to organize your designs and help you get the clutter out.

- 5D BASICS

- 4D/5D EMBROIDERY SOFTWARE
     MARLENE PERKINS AND DEBBIE VITE

In this 2 month class session you will be using your lettering knowledge and techniques as follows:

MONTH 1: POEM
Type your poem in Word, copy & paste it into 4D or 5D to apply on fabric for a pillow or just frame it.
MONTH 2: YOUR SUGGESTIONS
Is there anything you haven’t comprehended or unsure of how to do. Is there a technique you would liked explained and /or demonstrated? There will be a suggestion box available in the store for you to put in your request for Deb and Marlene to review. At their discretion, they will select a request and walk thru it from A to Z.

- 4D/5D CROSS STITCH
     MARLENE PERKINS AND DEBBIE VITE

Once you’ve scanned in that cross-stitch charted design, you then have to know how to line it up and fill in the stitches, create borders, and use lettering for your designs.

All this will be accomplished in this set of 3 monthly classes.
