The Blue Porch

The Blue Porch Bed and Breakfast is a romantic and tranquil hideaway located just outside Murfreesboro, TN. Wanda and Donnell, the owners, are Murfreesboro locals that opened their dream Bed and Breakfast, The Blue Porch, in January of 2008. There are many vacation and party packages to make any occasion extra special.

Besides being a destination, The Blue Porch also offers full-service catering. The dishes served at the bed and breakfast or any of the catered events are homemade with locally grown produce from the CSA, Community Supported Agriculture when available.

The Blue Porch is nestled in the middle of 6 acres of lush property. It is like a whole other world; where the outside hustle and bustle does not exist. Inside the foyer is a picture-perfect, craftsman made banister and staircase. Outside there are several groves of trees and large level grassy areas perfect for weddings, picnic, or other party. The Blue Porch Bed and Breakfast is a truly unforgettable destination.

Themed weekends, evenings or parties are available. Some of which include: Honeymoon Package, Anniversary Package, Bachelor or Bachelorette Party, Company Picnic, Annual Party, Christmas Party, Birthday Party, and many more. The picturesque settings at The Blue Porch are perfect for photo shoots.

Each Saturday, weather permitting, you can find The Blue Porch catering family at the Farmers Market on Main St. with some of their delicious dishes. They often sell out; ordering ahead is recommended.

Planning a unique birthday party? The Blue Porch offers one-of-a-kind birthday party packages. Some past themes have been; jewelry making, cocktail, tea party, cookie/cupcake decorating, princess, and cooking class. If you have a special request, Wanda and Donnell will gladly make it a reality.

When you are visiting The Blue Porch you are about 45 minutes from Nashville, Opryland, Southern Mansions and Plantations, The General Jackson. The Grand Ole Opry, and upscale shopping boutiques. Book early for winter stays; visitors flock to Opryland to see The Rockettes, Holiday Lights and Decorations. The Blue Porch is 10 miles away from the Historic Stones River National Battle field. Other Civil War sites are with in easy driving distance.

This is the first year that The Blue Porch has participated in the Taste of Stones River annual event. Stop by their booth and say hello. Do not forget a sample of one their dishes. 

The Taste of Stones River, held at The Avenue Murfreesboro, is on August 28^th, 2010 from 4-8 pm. There will be over 40 restaurants showing off their culinary talents. This event is family-friendly with a special kid’s area. While sampling delicious fares visitors will be able to enjoy music from local musicians.

Tickets are .50 cents each and will be sold starting at 3pm. The tickets will be needed for the kid’s areas activities and for food samples. Each restaurant will require between one and five tickets per dish. Remember all proceeds benefit the Primary Care & Hope Facility here in Murfreesboro.
