Hello everyone, welcome to the Yellowhammer restaurant. My Mom loved birds, and I remember her saying how much she liked Yellowhammers. This bird is also the state bird of Alabama, so in honor of Mom, the state, and of the bird, I named the place the Yellowhammer.

A restaurant is basically four things. First of all, it's a chance to go out, mix and mingle, see and be seen, meet a friend, make a friend, or celebrate any number of occassions with friends and famility.

Another important aspect of a good restaurant is the atmosphere, the decor, and the ambiance. The Yellowhammer has a warm and magical feel. It's located in a historic old brick building that came into being around 1912. It was then a Ford dealership that sold the model T. Much of the original structures that were part of that operation are sill in place. It is a wonderful setting for a party or a special celebration, for which, by the way, we are also available.

Then there is the service, and we make every effort to be friendly, helpful, and prompt. Our goal is to make your dining experience memorable and enjoyable.

And finally, part of the "memorable and enjoyable" certainly includes the food. We strive to offer a delicious and unique cuisine by using quality ingredients at the peak of their flavor. We buy locally whenever possible, utilize seasonally available items, humanely raised meats, and frequently change our menu when something interestng comes along.
