For the teacher in you.

We’re all educators in our own way. Whether you share knowledge in a classroom, with your kids or with your friends, there’s a teacher in you. That’s why Educators Credit Union membership is open to anyone who works or lives in southeastern Wisconsin.

Educators Credit Union is a financial cooperative. Open your account with a $5 deposit, you are an owner of the credit union. We do our best to keep our owners happy by sharing financial knowledge to help you make the best decision for your needs, offering low interest rates and even putting money right back into your account.

As a cooperative, the credit union is only as healthy as the communities we serve. Whether through fundraising or volunteering, we believe in helping the communities in which we live and work.

Community Partnerships

Educators staff members are active in many different charities and organizations all over southeastern Wisconsin.

Community Support

Staff and members donate money and items to benefit local organizations, including school supplies, coats, food, children’s books and toys.

Volunteering

Many staff members regularly volunteer with local groups and for community events, which Educators encourages and supports.

Financial Literacy

We offer resources and services to help our members make effective financial decisions, which can lead members to a more secure future.

Helping Members Learn About Money

Financial literacy is important. It helps members make informed and effective decisions with their financial resources and can help them achieve their financial goals. It’s an important life skill, one that is often neglected in schools. Each year, 8 percent of the credit union’s net income is dedicated to providing financial literacy efforts, including Reality Check Days at local schools, partnerships with Junior Achievement, support of Banzai and FoolProof educational programs in schools and more.

We offer our members services like What’s Your Score? consumer education to help increase members’ financial literacy. Through What’s Your Score?, we teach members how to review their credit reports, how to correct inaccuracies in the report, and how to maintain or improve their credit scores. We also offer workshops, events and webinars for adults and youth to help them learn the basics of financial literacy, such as budgeting, saving and even investing.

Strong Relationships Make Strong Communities

Our staff and members often raise and donate money through in-branch efforts, like basket raffles or casual days, where staff members pay to wear blue jeans to work. In 2014, more than $300,000 was donated to local non-profits in our communities.

Much of the focus is on our six community partners: United Way, Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Boys & Girls Club and Tex Reynolds’ Toys for Tots.

Additionally, branches and departments have long-standing relationships with local groups. For example, our Appleton Avenue branch has worked with After Breast Cancer Diagnosis, and the location in New Berlin is a big supporter of the Elmbrook Humane Society.
