Your Neighborhood Senior Living Community in Kenosha WI

Library Terrace Assisted Living in Kenosha WI has been family-owned since the original building opened in 2000. Now, in 2015 operations have been integrated and the buildings upgraded to keep up with the changing times. There is a commitment not just to the seniors who we serve but to the employees who are there to support our residents’ needs. As a member of the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association (WALA) we are investing in continued improvement and subscribe to a 10-point philosophy of service:

Small enough to be home-like yet large enough to offer the amenities and services one might expect in larger senior communities. Library Terrace Assisted Living in Kenosha WI offers a continuum of care in a long-established, single-family home neighborhood. Located adjacent to the Kenosha Southwest Neighborhood Library, the campus is conveniently situated near Festival Foods, Walgreen’s pharmacy, banking, medical clinics, churches, restaurants and much more!

The campus consists of Library Terrace Apartments – 26 apartment units where seniors can age in place and receive up to 28 hours of services per week depending on their needs — and Library Terrace Suites – 20 units for seniors with higher care needs. Offering a continuum of care allows seniors to move in while still relatively independent and then age in place as their needs change over time.

A variety of services are offered tailored to each resident’s needs. Our chefs get to know the food preferences of each individual and menus feature fresh fruits and vegetables plus high quality meats and fish. We offer life enriching activities aligned with the interests of our residents including a Senior Fitness program with Tai Chi classes. Our full time on campus registered nurse does weekly wellness checks and works closely with our direct care staff to monitor changes in condition. Our 24/7 staff are here to respond to needs as they arise, day or night.

The smaller building size can ease the transition from a home of many years and allows new residents to quickly get to know the staff and other Library Terrace seniors. Service packages are based on the nurse’s assessment and customized to meet individual needs. Levels of care allow services to be increased or decreased as resident needs change. At Library Terrace the focus is on the whole person including physical, spiritual, social and mental well-being.

The Apartments

A Certified RCAC

Library Terrace Apartments offer a wide range of services based on individual needs – NOT a one-size-fits-all package. As a certified Residential Care Apartment Complex (R.C.A.C), residents of the Apartments can receive up to 28 hours of supportive and personal care services per week. Each potential resident is assessed by our registered nurse prior to move-in to determine the services needed and desired by the resident. An individual care plan is developed, and the monthly service fee is based on the hours of staff time per week required to provide the services in the plan.

A total of 4 levels of care are offered and may include:

  • 24-hour on-site staff to meet scheduled and unscheduled care needs
  • Individual supportive & personal care services
  • Regular health monitoring by on-site registered nurse
  • Medication assistance
  • Diabetic management
  • Chef inspired fine dining
  • Housekeeping and linen service
  • Personal laundry services
  • Wireless call system for 24-hour staff access
  • Coordination of medical appointments & transportation
  • Variety of daily scheduled activities including our Senior Fitness program

Residents who over time require more than 28 hours of service per week may have the option of moving into the Library Terrace Suites which is licensed as a CBRF and is able to offer higher care levels. Individuals with an activated Power of Attorney for Health Care cannot be accommodated at The Apartments but may be a candidate for The Suites.
