HOPES Center is a sponsored ministry of the Racine Dominicans.  Its mission is to look at the causes and consequences of poverty both locally and globally and to take steps to alleviate these. 

• Globally we change lives one purchase at a time.  Our fair trade coffee and gift shops sell only fair trade certified products.   Fair Trade means that the producers are paid a fair wage, workers are guaranteed safe working conditions, production is done in environmentally friendly ways, and no children are exploited as slave labor. 
• Locally we change one life at a time.  Through counseling and the provision of healing arts practices ( Acupuncture, Chiropractic Care, Massage,  Art Therapy and Spiritual Guidance), HOPES Center serves homeless persons in Racine who are homeless and suffering from mental health issues and/or drug and alcohol addictions. Chronically homeless persons with mental health and/or AODA diagnosis are provided intensive case management services.  We aim at assisting our clients to become more self-sustaining community members.  

HOPES Center is also about educating our community to the benefits of Fair Trade and the stories behind the products we sell.  The retail ventures help support the counseling and case management services we provide to those unable to afford this type of care.   Come visit us!
