Owners Dave and Mary Hoxeng moved to Pensacola in 2002 and established Cat Country 98.7 by the end of 2003. Cat Country 98.7 caters to the Pensacola, Gulf Breeze, Pace and Milton markets, as well as Baldwin County, Alabama. Cat Country 98.7's sister station, NewsRadio1620 was established in 2007 by Dave and Mary Hoxeng.
