What to Expect
First of all, pole fitness and dancing is not here to train you in your new profession as an exotic dancer! Of course the industry evolved out of that business, and will probably always carry a stigma, but in recent years, women of all ages and backgrounds have discovered the benefits of this workout.
The thought of attending your first class can be very intimidating, and most women ARE embarrased at first. But they quickly learn that pole fitness is the perfect workout to have fun and feel sexy about themselves again. Whether you are stuck behind a desk all day, or a fulltime taxi driver for your children, you will be amazed at the empowerment, stress relief and sensual feelings you will gain in pole fitness and dancing!

Is It Really a Workout?
From your first spin on a pole, you'll discover how much fun this workout is. And since you're having fun, you won't even realize that it is indeed, quite a tough workout. With various moves, spins, tricks and sexy play, you'll discover how your upper body and arms, core and leg muscles start to tone very quickly.

What Should I Wear?
Don't worry, there is no nudity in pole fitness! When you are first starting out, your regular gym or yoga clothing will be fine for classes. Wearing yoga pants for beginning classes is ok, but as you advance in moves, you will find more skin exposure necessary. A typical outfit for more advanced workouts are a sports bra and booty shorts.
For footwear, you should plan to be barefoot for your first few classes. High heeled shoes and boots may also be worn, but are not recommended until you've taken a few classes and are starting to control your movement around the pole. Wearing the heels does help engage the calf muscles during your workout, as well contribute to your sexy feeling. Boots also provide ankle and foot protection from the pole, and help to grip the pole better when climbing and doing inverted moves. The studio offers a line of workout clothing, shoes and boots that you may wear during classes.
Finally, do not to use lotions or oils before class, as that will make your pole slippery! We also ask you to limit jewelry and remove any rings during pole class to avoid scratching and nicking the poles.

Dionne
Dionne's life in physical fitness began with cross country and track in junior high school. In later years she added weight lifting training, martial arts and yoga. While living in Maryland in 2006, she attended a pole fitness class with a friend and became hooked with her first spin. A few months later, she started teaching classes and taught for over a year before realizing her dream of moving to Colorado. In addition to teaching in Maryland, she has also completed Instructor Certification in Las Vegas with Fawnia Dietrich, one of the founding members in the pole fitness industry. After trying out a studio in Denver, she decided that Parker needed a pole playground of its own and Mile High Pole Club was born!
Chris
Chris' background includes all types of dance. She has been involved with dance for 16 years and instructing dance classes for the past six. She recently completed an internship with Metropolitan State College and training at Cleo Parker Dance for the past three years. She is constantly expanding her dance experience and genres. Pole has been an exciting and exhilarating experience that she loves to share with others. Chris' classes are upbeat as well as challenging. With her dancing experience she enjoys incorporating a short routine into her classes.

Cody
Cody dedicated most of her life to swimming before discovering pole fitness. Her athletic background began with swimming and soccer at 5 years old. With one year of Irish Step dancing, she chose swimming as her passion. She started weight lifting and teaching swim lessons at 15 years old, and competed in college swimming for 4 years. She also has yoga, running and biking in her fitness background. Her obsession with pole fitness began in June 2010, focusing on the fun and challenging aspects of the sport. Her classes vary from working isolated muscle groups and learning pole moves, to stringing together pole and strength combinations for cardio benefits. She encourages students to push themselves to new levels with each class and discover new altitudes of confidence!

Jami
Jami started dancing at the age of 4 and has explored many different types of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, country line-dancing, ballroom and bellydance. As she studied bellydance, she discovered that this was something she not only loved to do but was also something she could teach others to do quite easily. She believes that anyone who wants to dance can learn to do it. Jami's personal style of bellydance includes an element of flamenco and a unique flare that has earned her the nickname "Gypsy" among her close friends.
