The Shrimp Barn in Seguin was voted Best Restaurant in the 2011 Seguin Gazette Readers' Choice Awards!  It is a family owned, local restaurant here to serve you great food homemade with love and passion.

 

Brief History About the Shrimp Barn:

We opened in June 2009.  My mother Julia ran a steak and seafood place in China Grove called Carlos Kelly's Steak and Seafood.  My brothers and I worked it starting when I was 11.  Over the course of time my mother and brothers and I were taught all the aspects of restaurant ownership by Mr. Kelly.  My oldest brother Phil always wanted to own a restaurant called the shrimp barn so when Carlos Kelly's closed we got together and opened this restaurant.  Every item on our menu had been prepared and served thousands of times by us even before we opened this restaurant.

What Makes The Shrimp Barn Unique?

There are only 2 items we serve that we do not prepare ourselves.  All our meals whether they are fish, chicken, frog legs, oysters, or chicken fried steaks are breaded only when you order it and our shrimp is peeled, deveined and breaded by us.

What Would You Tell Someone Who Hasn't Been to The Shrimp Barn Yet?

New customers get what we consider one of the best meals in Seguin at a great price.  Return customers get another bowl of the delicious catfish gumbo and get to try another meal prepared fresh just for them.
