For us this all started when my Mother bought the Pancake House in February 1972 from Willard Irby and it came with the original recipes. Mom had not been in the restaurant business before and my father owned log trucks. That same year my Father died of Cancer. (I was 12 years old). So I grew up here and it was just her and I.
She let me take over in 1993, and she helped me learn the trade ....we went non smoking in 1994 (it was a big deal back then. People said we would go broke), we didn't. In fact it increased our business because we were such a small building...
In 1998 my mother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and she died later that year. Her wonderful and giving personality was missed by so many people.
To this day, Myself , with the help of my husband Dave, run the business. (he is retired from the Car business, but occasionally you will see him busing tables and serving coffee.).
I attribute our success through the years to my loyal employees who have came and gone and been with us for many years. Linda has been with us almost 39 years. Many are over 20 years.
Maybe someday my sons will take over the business and the traditions will live on....
We will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary in February 2012. So come and help us celebrate!
