SassiFit Dance Fitness uses short sets of easy to follow choreography in the styles of jazz, hip hop, burlesque and pom, in darkened rooms to discourage judgement through comparison and instead promote positive self-talk and build confidence. SassiFit is about loving and accepting yourself right now, while still constantly improving and growing; Progress not perfection.
Classes are 55 minutes; 30 minutes of dancing and 25 minutes of mat based training for strengthening and toning. Mat exercises are based in pilates, yoga and floor barre. Each six-week session begins with a new warm up routine with 3-5 more simplistic routines added over the session. After two six-week sessions is “Cardio Blast Week” that ditches the mat fitness and is one hour of all the dance fitness routines from the past two sessions. This week is drop in only and all funds raised go to female-run charities.
SassiFit was developed by a former Denver Nuggets Dancer based on the side-line routines the dancers did during games. It is a female run business based on female empowerment and community connection.
