Jongo Java Coffeehouse in Historic Downtown Hendersonville, NC is the area's first environmentally responsible coffee shop, serving Fair Trade Coffees, Teas, and Breakfast, Lunch & Real Fruit Smoothies all day.

We're proud that Jongo Java has the distinction of being the first ever winner of ECO's Environmental Stewardship Award in 2011. The Environmental and Conservation Organization of Western North Carolina launched this campaign to encourage a greener local business community, recognizing that people live, work and vacation here because of our community spirit, cultural heritage and natural beauty. It is so important for us all to work together for our sustainability, our health, and our community.

TOP TEN reasons to hang out with us (Results May Vary):

1. Bring your own coffee mug, and we'll keep it in the house ready for you to use whenever you visit.

2. If you don't hang your mug here, we use compostable corn plastic cups & lids

3. Who needs plastic stir sticks? We're using our noodles and encourage you to do the same.

4. We use organic yogurt, milk and real fruit in our smoothies.

5. Anything we can't get organic is purchased Fair Trade.

6. We have wireless internet and real comfy seats, too.

7. We buy our ingredients from local vendors whenever possible, like Paramount Produce, and coffee roaster Bean Werks in West Asheville.

8. We host monthly local art shows featuring local artists with openings the First Friday of the month. Check our calendar of events for the info.

9. All our foods are prepared in our on-site kitchen using the freshest, local ingredients (except we do sell Joey's bagels and some items from The Underground Bakery).
