Tim Roberts opened 2 Dog in 1997 with the belief that good fresh product is the first step to great food. A self taught cook, Tim took all he learned from his mentors whether it be about food, business or people and applied it to 2 Dog. Tina joined 2 Dog in 1998. This restaurant is primarily a business, but Tina finds that with 2 Dog's employees and patrons it has become so much more. Tina was amazed to see that Tim actually practice what he preached. His organic farmer came in every morning with fresh produce and Tim got up every morning to bake bread. Desserts were make weekly in house and every week all the glass, plastic and paper collected during the previous week was taken to the recycling center. Since they have been at the new location, herbs are grown in the garden and cut fresh. 2 Dog is local in so many ways, but the cuisine is something one might find off the beaten path on a weekend getaway.
So many of our wonderful staff have been with us for years. I know many of you who have dined with us over the years have come to love them as well. Each staff member has a strength that lends itself to maintining our standard. Tim's toughest critics are right here at 2 Dog. A sense of community, responsibility and strong work ethic have made 2 Dog a success here in our big little town. We hope that you will join us soon for lunch or dinner. Our menu changes frequently as Tin likes to keep it fresh for our regulars. We will continue to provide you with fresh product and innovative menu selections. In dining with us, you support local farmers, local businesses and many of our local charities. Thanks you for being an important part of our community. Tim and Tina both grew up here in Gainesville. It is home and they are glad to be a part of it. They will work hard to continue the tradition of our parents and make Gainesville a special place for all those who are touched by it.
