“I think the best way to celebrate our first year is to give back to the community - including our patrons as well as our local families in need,” said Lexington native Tami McCraw.
And that they have, as they raised awareness and collected food for families in need.
McCraw opened Tantrum on April 5, 2011 with a family focus in mind. The salon provides hair care and skincare services for families with children, including children with special needs.
Tantrum is a full-service salon offering color, highlights, perms, and feather extensions as well as skincare, waxing, makeup application, and makeup classes. Guests relax while their children enjoy the large playroom, which includes books, toys, a DVD player, and snacks.
“Our salon offers a calm, relaxing environment in which both parents and children can have a pleasant, stress-free experience,” said McCraw.
Children sit in Hello Kitty or Mickey Mouse styling chairs and they can even enjoy portable DVD players while getting their hair cut.
Tantrum Salon is located at 104-C Scarborough Drive (Augusta Hwy) in Lexington. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. Walk-ins are welcome. Saturday hours include 10:30 am until 2:00 pm by appointment.
