Situated at the corner of Hickory and Locust streets, this restaurant invites patrons to enjoy a relaxing meal in a contemporary yet rustic environment. The Abbey Inn offer a Happy Hour from 3-7pm and drink specials each night culminating with live music Wednesday evenings from 8 to 11 pm.

Dating back to the 15th Century, English Inns, also known as Public houses, or Pubs, originated in small villages throughout Europe and quickly became the focal point of their communities. These popular social spots offered the locals a tavern in which to relax with a cold brew, enjoy traditional English dishes and play the occasional game of darts. Lodging was eventually added for the business travelers, thus becoming Inns. Throughout the centuries, these taverns developed into prominent places for the discussions of trade, religion, politics and more! Today’s Inns and Pubs have undergone considerable transformations, but still remain at the center of local culture.

Denton’s Abbey Inn was conceived by three businessmen who joined to recreate the traditional English Inn experience and bring it to the historical courthouse square. Their goal was to reinvent the heritage and tradition of the courtyard dining experience encompassed by English Inns.

Enjoy our authentic, freshly prepared English cuisine like Bangers and Mash and Cottage Pie. We offer a wide variety of import and domestic lagers, ales, stouts, and great wines. From the 19th Century church pews to the traditional English bar, every detail was carefully chosen to create the mood and ambience of traditional English Inn dining.
