LoCKs Studio LLC is a Paul Mitchell Focus Studio Salon in Arvada, Colorado. We
are Lauren Ferchau & Kanani Yasui, the owners and head stylists at the cozy,
all-things-Audrey-inspired salon and run a successful bridal beauty business
under the LoCKs brand as well.We are a Sola studio salon. We are experts in special events and weddings. Come in for your customized salon experience!

We live & love all things in the beauty industry and want nothing more than to share our knowledge with you and you and especially YOU!!! (ok we also might like taking over the world and styling on stage at Capers, a Paul Mitchell hair show in Vegas) but MAINLY we want you to feel beautiful inside & out! Hi I'm Lauren! Thanks for checking out our page :) I am one half of the whole of LoCKs Studio and I feel so fortunate that I get to go to a job I LOVE LOVE LOVE every day. I grew up as an athlete and a tom boy so it seems a little weird that I have chosen a career path in the beauty industry but let me tell you its not. I lived in jeans, t-shirts and sneakers growing up but if there was ONE thing I was super particular about it was my HAIR. Every strand had to be in place, the bangs just right etc etc ~Even my braids and ponytails just for basketball games had to be right! I was the girl who braided the whole teams hair before games and cut and dyed everyone's in my kitchen or dorm room in college.

Speaking of college: I went to Western State to play basketball. I met some of my best friends there- and that includes my husband Duke :) After 2 years of playing in the coldest place in Colorado I decided to transfer to DU. I graduated with a Business degree and decided I better put that degree to work. I worked in Accounting for 2 years for a company before I woke up and realized that I was just not cut out to sit at a computer all day (I don't think there is anything wrong with desk jobs- I for one, with my undiagnosed ADD just cannot do it!) So I got back in touch with what I had been itching to do all along and went to Paul Mitchell the School Denver to get my Cosmetology license.

And the rest as they say, is history. In school I met my brain twin Kanani, we started brainstorming a business plan about halfway through school & once we graduated and had been working for a while, various serendipitous happenings threw us head-first into our dream business and we haven't slowed down one bit since :)

Hi I'm Kanani!

I am the second half of LoCKs Studio LLC! I was born to be in this industry. From the moment I could talk I was begging my mother to put makeup on me and curl my hair... she finally caved at age 2! After that I started practicing my talents regularly on my dolls and at age 10 my cousin was born and I finally had a real life barbie doll who's hair could actually grow back!! Let's just say my cousin has been getting cut, colored, waxed and experimented on from a very early age! At 13, when my family could really see that I actually knew what I was doing I began doing the entire family's hair and then that turned into friends and friends of friends. I was really serious about making my passion my career one day. After high school I worked for a few years and continued to do hair out of my kitchen sink while at the same time trying to convince my grandpa that I did not want to go into the police academy (cause that is so not me at all) and that cosmetology school was where I needed to be! Finally Grandpa caved and I enrolled in Paul Mitchell the School Denver and met my brain twin, Lauren and it's been symphonic and magical since!
